Copper Sounds present their new sonic installation, in which a series of sculptural ceramic vessels each produce their own sound depending on the form, size and type of clay.
These objects are played using a custom-made sequencer that controls mechanical beaters which slap and strike the ceramics to create minimalist-inspired, hypnotic compositions.
These sonic patterns and sounds flow in and out of each other and create an echo chamber of polyrhythms.
The piece was developed in collaboration with Chris Ingram, Milly Hardy, Thomas Blackstock and Alan Burgess, during a three-week residency at Strange Brew with funding from Help Musicians UK.
